Job Description

We are a well-regarded water management company known for providing professional water treatment/hygiene and legionella services to clients nationwide. The client is looking for a committed and multi-disciplined Water Treatment Engineer/Plumber based in and around the Darlington area. The successful candidate will be a qualified remedial plumber and will also have experience in carrying out routine water treatment duties for a mixed portfolio of clients. Applications will be considered from Northallerton, Barnard Castle, Hartlepool, Durham and the surrounding areas.

Experience / Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Water Treatment Engineer within the industry.
• Hands‑on experience carrying out remedial plumbing to a mixed portfolio of sites.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing is advantageous.
• Fully conversant with Health & Safety procedures/legislation relevant to water treatment.
• Background in chemicals, technical, and educational areas.
• Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Package.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Duties will entail

• Cleaning and chlorination of hot and cold‑water systems, boilers, cooling towers, shower heads, and flushing.
• Descaling, disinfection, tank cleaning and dosing.
• Temperature monitoring, routine sampling, and analysis of water systems and interpretation of results.
• Planned preventative maintenance on all dosing equipment as required.
• Completion of worksheets for work carried out appropriately.
• Building and maintaining a good rapport with the company’s mixed portfolio of clients.
• Collation and provision of accurate reports.
• Visiting sites as per client requirements.
• Travel flexibility and ability to meet timelines.
