Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineering Graduate Water in Cardiff to join our Water team. You will undertake numerical analyses, feasibility studies and assist in designing water infrastructure while developing your technical skills under guidance of an experienced team.

We offer a hybrid work model, graduate development programmes, and opportunities to work across Europe, the Middle East and Africa on diverse projects. The role requires a 2:1 BEng or MEng in related field and a passion for water.

Qualifications

• BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering with a 2:1 at minimum (or equivalent).
• MEng in Civil, Structural, or Water Engineering related MSc would be an advantage.
• Water-related modules would be an advantage.
• Relevant work experience would be an advantage.
• Enthusiastic, hardworking and technically proficient with ambition and drive.
• Willing to progress towards ICE & CIWEM qualifications.
• Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients, verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Undertake numerical analysis using computer-based programs for potable, surface and wastewater systems.
• Conduct technical and feasibility studies for alternative solutions (potable, foul, surface water, attenuation).
• Produce designs of water infrastructure such as pump systems and pipe networks with attenuation to safety in design; create Designer’s Risk Assessments.
• Create sketches, models and final working drawings; maintain up-to-date with regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate with team members on technical work, site work and project management; participate in site visits to understand implementation.
