Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineering Graduate for Water in the UK. You will work on potable, surface and wastewater projects, gaining experience across analysis, design and feasibility studies within a global infrastructure firm.

You’ll develop technical and professional skills through our Graduate Development programme, with hybrid working and strong emphasis on career progression and mentoring. Suitable for recent graduates aiming for ICE/CIWEM qualifications.

Qualifications

• BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering with a 2:1 classification
• MEng in Civil/Structural or Water-related MSc would be an advantage
• Water-related modules would be an advantage
• Relevant work experience would be an advantage
• Enthusiastic, hard-working, technically proficient with ambition and drive
• Basic computer skills essential (Word/Excel) and good report writing skills
• Willing to work towards ICE & CIWEM qualifications
• Demonstrable interest in water projects
• Ability to consider financial implications and satisfy client expectations
• Excellent verbal and written communication with the team

Responsibilities

• Undertake numerical analysis using computer-based programmes for potable, surface and wastewater systems
• Carry out technical/feasibility studies for water solutions
• Design water infrastructure like pump systems and pipe networks
• Create sketches, models and final working drawings
• Stay updated with regulatory legislation affecting design work
• Collaborate with team on technical work, site work and project management
• Opportunity for site work and visits to understand design implementation
