Job summary

AECOM is recruiting a Civil Engineering Graduate – Water to join our Water team across multiple locations in the UK. This full-time graduate role offers a hybrid work model and exposure to hydraulic modelling, water infrastructure design, and regulatory guidance.

You will work with experienced engineers on potable and wastewater systems, gain skills in calculations, reporting, and project coordination, and have opportunities to progress toward ICE/CIWEM professional qualifications.

Qualifications

• BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering with 2:1 (or equivalent).
• MEng in Civil, Structural or Water Engineering related MSc would be an advantage.
• Water-related modules are advantageous.
• Relevant work experience is beneficial.
• Enthusiastic, hard-working, technically proficient with drive.
• Basic computer skills (Word/Excel) and good report writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake numerical analysis using computer programs for potable, surface and wastewater systems.
• Carry out technical and feasibility studies for water infrastructure solutions.
• Produce designs for pump systems and pipe networks with attenuation to safe design.
• Create sketches, models and consolidate final working drawings.
• Keep up-to-date with regulatory legislation and guidelines affecting design work.
• Collaborate with team members on technical work, site work and project management.
• Participate in site visits to understand implementation of designs.
