Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join its Water team in the UK. Based across North and Midlands offices with a flexible hybrid working model, you will contribute to mechanical design for wastewater and water infrastructure, from feasibility to construction design, supporting clients such as major UK water companies.

You'll work alongside civil, mechanical, electrical and process engineers, engage in digital solutions, and pursue professional qualifications with support from

Qualifications

• MEng in Mechanical Engineering (2:1 or above) would be preferred.
• Relevant work experience would be an advantage.
• Willing and able to work towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
• Demonstrable interest in water projects.
• Structure & prioritise work through close cooperation with the team.
• Ability to work independently without losing initiative & focus.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design: pumping calculations and specifications.
• Production of system schematics.
• Production of equipment and drive schedules.
• Engineering specs for hydraulics and pump systems.
• Support project delivery, asset and network performance.
• Production of lifting, access and maintenance plans.
• Liaise with internal/external design teams and clients.
• Timely reporting to client and team lead.
• Digital solutions: shape digital offerings and use BIM/ProjectWise/pID tools on projects.
