Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is Saturday & Sunday 1700-2300

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

To co‑ordinate an efficient Health Records Service to Patients, General Practitioners, Medical and Nursing Staff, ensuring that the workload is prioritised on a daily basis. The workload of the department encompasses Inpatients, Outpatients and Day Cases.

The post holder will be responsible for day to day supervision of Health Records staff, prioritising workloads, granting leave and organising cover, maintaining workflow and ensuring that targets and deadlines are met.

The post holder is expected to respond to difficult situations involving patients or their relatives and may play a leading role in seeking resolution, and only escalating the problem to a more senior level where necessary.

  • Institute of Health Records and Information Management Supervisory Accreditation Certificate of Health Records and Information Management Certificate and / or significant previous Health Records Experience essential.
  • Effective communication skills, Computer Literacy, Internet Skills, ability to use Initiative.
  • It is also desirable that the candidate has extensive experience of using the Patient Management System (PMS).

Please note this is a GGC wide post and can be moved to any location, however initial base will be Glasgow Royal Infirmary
