Support Local Families – Share Your Skills – Make a DifferenceHome-Start East Antrim is an early years, family support charity working across Carrickfergus, Newtownabbey and Larne.We’re currently seeking passionate and community-minded individuals to join our Board of Trustees. This is a rewarding opportunity to help guide our strategic direction and ensure we’re meeting the needs of local families effectively and sustainably.

Support Local Families – Share Your Skills – Make a Difference

Home-Start East Antrim is a family support charity working across Carrickfergus, Newtownabbey and Larne. We offer a wide variety of family support services, including weekly home-visiting support and group-based services to families with young children who are facing difficult times, and Baby Bank support for those in need of essential items for their young children.

We’re currently seeking passionate and community-minded individuals to join our Board of Trustees. This is a rewarding opportunity to help guide our strategic direction and ensure we’re meeting the needs of local families effectively and sustainably.

What Trustees Do

As a Trustee, you’ll:

Provide leadership and strategic direction in line with the ethos and values of Home-Start

Ensure the organisation complies with legal, regulatory, and governance requirements

Oversee the charity’s performance, finances, and risk management

Protect and manage our resources and act as guardians of our assets

Promote the work of Home-Start East Antrim as an ambassador

Contribute to one or more of our subgroups

Help shapeservices that directly improve family wellbeing and child development

Who We’re Looking For

You do not need previous board experience to apply! We welcome a wide range of skills and backgrounds, especially in:

Finance, HR, safeguarding, fundraising,governance, community development, early years or family services

Strategic thinking, good judgement and a team-oriented attitude

A willingness to give a few hours of your time monthlyand engage positively with our staff and volunteer network
