A local support service in Liverpool is seeking volunteers to play a crucial role in supporting individuals facing substance-related challenges. As a volunteer, you will be the first point of contact, greeting visitors and ensuring they feel welcome. Your responsibilities include coordinating appointments and assisting with the registration process, thereby fostering an encouraging environment. Ideal candidates will be empathetic and motivated to help others. This volunteering role requires individuals to be 18 years or older.
We are a free and confidential service for adults (18+) in Liverpool who are experiencing difficulties with substances.
We believe everyone has the ability to make positive changes. We work with individuals, families, carers, and professionals to offer support that's right for you.
Whether you need one-to-one help, group sessions, or access to medication and treatment, we're here for you.
Volunteers play a crucial role in helping us bring our vision to life and deliver our services effectively. Their dedication strengthens the quality, reach, and accessibility of our support, allowing us to help even more people.
At River you will be working with people to help them change the direction of their life, grow as an individual, and live life to its full potential.
We strive to ensure our services are warm and welcoming environments. Your role is to be the first point of contact within the service greeting all our visitors promptly in a friendly and courteous manner. You will be supporting reception dealing with initial queries, coordinating appointments, signposting to support available within the service and the community.
Making the decision to enter treatment can be an intimidating experience so your role will be to make them feel at ease offering to make them a drink and supporting them to complete their registration form.
You will be a positive role model to the service users motivating, encouraging, and inspiring them to reach their potential. You will be provided with all the skills, training and support you will need to undertake the role.
