Volunteer Driver – Responsibilities
  • Provide transport for patients to appointments and group activities, including assisting in‑patients with home leave.
  • Offer reassurance and engage in appropriate conversation during journeys.
  • Report any concerns to the Supervisor / Service Manager.
Volunteer Driver – Qualifications & Requirements
  • Proof of a clean driving licence, insurance and a valid MOT.
  • Understanding that mileage and out‑of‑pocket expenses will be covered.
  • Ability to follow instructions, be tidy and methodical, punctual and reliable.
  • Interest in working with people with mental health conditions and/or dementia and/or physical health needs.
  • Ability to communicate with a range of people with diverse needs.
  • Adherence to the dress code for the volunteer area and wearing your ID badge at all times.
  • Teamwork skills: able to work as a member of a team.
  • Professional behaviour: treat others with dignity and respect at all times and adhere to the Trusts Equality and Diversity Policy.
