Job description

We have exciting opportunities for a Vehicle Cleanliness Operative to join the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service. The location for this role is based in Ballymena. This role is 30 hours per week and set to last 6 weeks minimum. Successful candidates must be reliable and flexible to work required shift patterns. Must currently hold a Category C1 driving licence as you will be required to transport the associated vehicles. In return we will offer you training and induction into the role, weekly pay,We will pay you £12.31 per hour Monday to Friday, £17.22 per hour on a Saturday and £20.80 per hour on a Sunday.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring ambulances, equipment, and consumables are in a state of immediate readiness.
  • Preparing ambulances for operational duty to agreed quality standards.
  • Cleaning and decontaminating vehicles to maintain safety for NIAS staff and patients.
  • Re‑stocking consumables and equipment as required.
  • Carrying out vehicle roadworthiness checks.
  • Completing safety and functional checks on all onboard equipment (medical and non‑medical).
Skills and Qualifications
  • Currently holds a Category C1 driving licence.
  • Experience working in a service‑based role or department, such as Support Services.
  • Be willing to work shifts including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
  • Be flexible to work at other locations to meet operational demands.
