Job summary

A leading paints and coatings company in the United Kingdom is looking for a Process Technician to manage and improve production processes. Responsibilities include ensuring safety systems, troubleshooting machine errors, and performing quality checks. Candidates should have a Level 3 apprenticeship and CompEx certification with experience in hazardous chemical environments. Qualifications

  • Experience of working with hazardous chemicals in any manufacturing or process industry.
  • Strong understanding of machinery safety equipment & legislation.
  • Comfortable implementing & sustaining continuous improvement manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe systems of work are in place for both reactive & planned activities.
  • Spot machine errors or anomalies & address them before they affect production.
  • Ensure equipment is running in the proper condition & operated correctly in-line with our Manufacturing Execution System.
  • Perform & record stock tank & quality checks.
  • Create / maintain documentation & records.

Job Purpose

You will be responsible for the operation troubleshooting rectification of faults problem solving and continuous improvement of production equipment and processes. You will ensure production demands are met whilst ensuring compliance to safety and quality standards too.


We shall also look to you to optimise processes identify and eliminate loss and waste as well as drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment availability and reliability.



Job Responsibilities


  • Ensure safe systems of work are in place for both reactive & planned activities

  • Spot machine errors or anomalies & address them before they affect production.

  • Ensure equipment is running in the proper condition & operated correctly in-line with our Manufacturing Execution System

  • Perform & record stock tank & quality checks

  • Create / maintain documentation & records

  • Develop competency across all process roles to be able to rotate roles within the team

  • Support continuous improvement activities to help improve overall performance

  • Assist in training on the calibration maintenance & troubleshooting of site equipment.

  • Collaborate with engineering colleagues for in depth troubleshooting & support with legislative standards.



Job Requirements


  • Level 3 apprenticeship in a relevant qualification.

  • CompEx certified.

  • Experience of working with hazardous chemicals in any manufacturing or process industry.

  • Strong understanding of machinery safety equipment & legislation.

  • Comfortable implementing & sustaining continuous improvement manufacturing principles.
