Overview

We are looking to recruit an adaptable User Researcher who can work effectively in multidisciplinary, agile teams to deliver excellent results across projects for Public Sector Clients.

Responsibilities
  • Include diverse users in appropriate research activities to help teams deliver accessible services.
  • Apply a range of user research methods and select appropriate methods for different stages of the product life cycle and situations.
  • Turn research data into clear findings and involve colleagues in analysis and synthesis to increase consensus and challenge assumptions.
  • Apply design thinking and an evidence-based design approach; test assumptions to ensure designs meet user needs with the simplest feasible solution.
  • Focus on users and their needs; undertake basic user research in design work and collaborate with researchers to test usability and accessibility.
  • Explain design decisions in relation to user needs and the constraints on designs; design to meet a wide range of user needs.
  • Evaluate concepts and prototypes and explain them to stakeholders; select, apply and adapt appropriate design patterns; participate in design community discussions.
  • Communicate design processes and decisions effectively to gain the confidence of internal colleagues and customers.
  • Manage stakeholders and know when to escalate issues to unblock design work.
  • Work in an open, iterative and collaborative way within an agile, multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications
  • Experience with user-centred design practices and aligning work to agile workflows across the development lifecycle.
  • Ability to collaborate with user researchers to understand users and their needs and to test designs for usability and accessibility.
