Job summary

Arcadis, a leading engineering and design consultancy, seeks a career-minded Civil Engineer for its Places Design Practice in the UK. You will design civil components for buildings projects, including drainage, utilities, earthworks, and highways interfaces, while upholding Arcadis health and safety principles.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, produce drawings and BIM models, attend project meetings, and guide junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified with Chartered or Incorporated status, close to chartered considered.
• Experience in civil engineering / urban development design for buildings projects, including drainage and highways.
• Proficiency with MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and BIM integration.
• Strong knowledge of design codes, standards, and construction principles.
• Evidence-based problem solving and ability to apply manual calculations.

Responsibilities

• Undertake civil engineering design for projects, contributing to sustainable development and safety.
• Collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure design integrity.
• Agree and implement project approach for collaboration with global design colleagues.
• Produce design solutions including drawings, BIM models, reports and specifications.
• Attend project meetings and check the work of others for accuracy.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across design, environmental and construction.
• Prepare Designer Hazard Logs and communicate residual risks to the Principal Designer.
• Provide input to Design Decision Logs and Project Assumptions registers.
• Resolve technical issues and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
