Job summary

Arcadis, the Places Design Practice, is seeking a career minded Senior Engineer in the UK to lead civil engineering and urban development design activities for buildings projects. You will deliver surface water and drainage, highways interfaces, and utility design while working with cross-GBA teams, GEC, and BIM-enabled delivery.

The role requires Chartered or Incorporated status, strong project management and mentoring skills, and a collaborative approach to deliver sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified with Chartered or Incorporated status; close to chartered status considered.
• Experience in civil engineering / urban development for buildings projects.
• Expertise in MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, AutoCAD Civil3D, and BIM integration.
• Knowledge of SuDS, SfA, DMRB, Building Regulations.
• Experience in project management, planning, and client relations.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering activities contributing to sustainable development.
• Collaborate with design disciplines to ensure design integrity.
• Agree and implement project approach with global design colleagues.
• Prepare and manage design solutions, drawings, BIM models, reports, and specifications.
• Attend project meetings and check team output for accuracy.
• Provide technical ownership of design logs and risk communication.
• Lead design team and guide junior engineers.
