Senior Civil Engineer - Urban Development Design Lead

Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Engineer for the Places Design Practice in the UK. You will contribute to civil engineering and urban development activities across buildings projects, including drainage, utilities, earthworks and highway interfaces.

Collaboration with cross-GBA teams, GEC and global Arcadis expertise is expected. You will lead technical design, manage BIM/drawings, and provide guidance to junior engineers, technicians and apprentices while ensuring design quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified with Chartered or Incorporated status or close to achieving chartered status.
• Experience in design and delivery of civil engineering/urban development for buildings projects.
• Expertise in MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, AutoCAD Civil3D and BIM integration.
• Knowledge of SuDS, SfA, DMRB and Building Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering activities contributing to sustainable development and health & safety.
• Collaborate with design disciplines to ensure integrity of the overall design.
• Lead design approach with global colleagues and manage drawing/BIM production.
• Attend project meetings and review work for accuracy.
• Maintain Designer Hazard Logs and communicate residual risks to the Principal Designer.
• Coordinate project planning, staffing, and resources; guide junior engineers.
