Job summary

Arcadis UK is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Places Design Practice in Manchester, delivering civil engineering and urban development design for buildings projects, including drainage, utilities, earthworks and highways interfaces.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, manage design work, and contribute to BIM models and drawing production while upholding Arcadis’ safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified with Chartered or Incorporated status is essential
• Experience in design and delivery of civil engineering/urban development for buildings projects
• Expertise in drainage design (surface water & foul water) and utilities
• Knowledge of design standards (SuDS, SfA, DMRB, Building Regulations)
• Experience in project management, planning and client relationship management
• Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers and technicians

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering activities contributing to sustainable development
• Collaborate with design disciplines to ensure design integrity
• Agree and implement project approaches with global design colleagues
• Prepare and manage design solutions across project stages
• Attend project meetings and review team work for accuracy
• Maintain Designer Hazard Logs and communicate residual risks
• Coordinate project planning, tasks, people and resources
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members
