Overview

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Unit Nurse Manager (General) at a Barchester care home, you’ll use your compassion and initiative to ensure our residents receive quality care. You’ll plan, manage and monitor the delivery of nursing to meet residents’ needs, implementing person-centred care plans that make a real difference to their day-to-day lives. You’ll also plan rotas, recruit, train and mentor staff, and build relationships with local regulators and social services. You’ll have the freedom and autonomy to develop your unit, with opportunities for professional development.

Responsibilities
  • Plan rotas and manage nursing staffing to meet resident needs
  • Recruit, train and mentor staff
  • Plan and monitor delivery of person-centred care
  • Implement care plans and ensure they align with residents’ needs
  • Build and maintain relationships with regulators and social services
  • Develop the unit through continuous improvement and professional development
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RGN) with a current NMC registration
  • Experience in producing well-developed care plans and detailed risk assessments
  • Up-to-date knowledge of clinical practices and regulatory frameworks, including DoLs/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines
  • Natural leader with experience as a clinical mentor, including supporting newly qualified nurses through their preceptorship
  • Dedicated, ambitious and resilient, with a track record of delivering improvements to achieve quality care
