A regional ambulance service in Liverpool is looking for a UECC to conduct remote patient assessments while ensuring high clinical standards. The role involves providing clinical advice to colleagues, supporting new staff, and managing calls. Candidates should have triage experience and strong leadership skills. The role requires adaptability and basic computer skills, with a salary ranging from £38,682 to £46,580 plus additional benefits, working on a 24/7 shift basis.
The post holder will work within our Integrated Contact Centres (ICC) based across the North West. As a UECC you will be responsible for the remote assessment of patients whilst ensuring the delivery of excellent patient care through the continuous achievement of high clinical standards. Further development will be offered once you have completed your initial training followed by a period of skill consolidation.
Once this period of consolidation is complete, the post holder will be required to develop additional skills to meet the needs of the service. These additional skills will include providing clinical advice to both clinical and non-clinical colleagues, supporting staff who are returning to practice or are new and require mentorship as well as other specialist skills such as managing the clinical queue and referring calls onto partner organisations who provide Clinical Assessment Services on behalf of NWAS. It is a requirement of the role that these additional skills are completed in a timely manner to ensure that patients get access to the right care, at the right time, in the right place; every time.
North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport. Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed. We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need. Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident. We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Basic salary of £38,682 - £46,580 (pro rata for part time staff) plus A4C shift enhancements. Access to paid CPD time. Access to numerous staff benefits such as salary sacrifice schemes, physiotherapy and other welfare benefits. Opportunities to develop knowledge and skills to support career progression.
Remote triage within ICC's is delivered on a 24/7 basis, with post holders being expected to work a variety of shifts which will include full night shifts, Bank Holidays, and other Public Holidays.
