Turning Team Member

They’re looking for a Turning Team Member to strengthen their Turning department. Whether you bring solid CNC experience or a strong manual turning background with CNC exposure, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills within a stable, forward‑thinking manufacturing environment.

The Role

As a Turning Team Member, you’ll be responsible for setting and operating both manual and CNC lathes, producing high‑quality components that meet exacting engineering standards. You’ll work from technical drawings, make offsets and basic program edits, and ensure all parts are manufactured accurately, efficiently, and on time.

You’ll also
  • Set and operate CNC machines (Okuma, Takamaz, Nakamura Tome TW‑10), including multi‑manning.
  • Operate manual centre lathes for core machining tasks.
  • Inspect components using standard measuring equipment.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately.
  • Support colleagues and assist with alternative tasks as required.
  • Contribute to achieving production, quality, efficiency, and delivery targets.
What They’re Looking For
Essential
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience or understanding of turning principles (manual and/or CNC).
  • A dependable, detail‑focused team player.
  • A proactive, target‑driven approach.
  • Willingness to follow procedures and work to high standards.
Desirable
  • NVQ in Engineering Manufacture or Advanced Modern Apprenticeship.
  • Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C or above).
  • Computer literacy.
  • Confident use of standard measuring equipment.
Working Hours

A/B Shift Rotation - 37 hours per week.

A Shift
Monday-Thursday: 6:00am - 1:35pm
Friday: 6:00am - 12:45pm

B Shift
Monday-Thursday: 1:25pm - 9:05pm
Friday: 12:35pm - 7:00pm

20% shift premium on B Shift.

Overtime available when required.
