The postholder will have excellent listening and communication skills and be able to quickly build trusting and collaborative relationships with patients, to help inpatients to stop smoking or to reduce the harm from tobacco during an inpatient admission.

This role is based at Weston General Hospital. The team operates across departments within North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT) and UHBW). The service core hours are 0830-1630 Monday-Friday.

The Advisor will deliver specialist motivational and behavioural support, develop personalised care plans in partnership with patients and facilitate access to appropriate pharmacotherapy and e-cigarettes / vouchers. The role will contribute to tackling health inequalities and focuses on engaging with inpatients, offering them support to motivate to change their behaviour and to achieve their stop smoking goals.

The Advisor will build and maintain effective working relationships with all professionals within the multidisciplinary team and act as a patient advocate to ensure that tobacco dependency treatment needs are met.

The Advisor will support the development of the day to day running of the service to ensure that patients receive safe, evidence-based care. The Advisor will manage a delegated caseload of patients, maintain accurate patient and service data records.
