This role can be based at either our London (Farringdon) office or Chesterfield (Future Walk) office, with an expectation to work onsite 2-3 days per week.

Join the Group Finance team at International Distribution Services (IDS). This pivotal function partners with Royal Mail's Finance team to drive performance and deliver strategic financial insights, shaping decisions and supporting the success of one of the UK's most iconic organisations.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Group Finance, you will act as the subject matter expert for all Treasury related accounting and controllership for the Group.

  • Oversee all aspects of treasury-related accounting.
  • Manage and develop the Treasury Management System (IT2), including system upgrades and strategic improvements.
  • Provide technical advice on hedge accounting and assess the implications of all hedge programmes.
  • Lead on treasury-related elements within the IDS Group consolidated financial statements, including year‑end disclosures, supporting analysis, presenting materials and working closely with external audit teams.
  • Support insurance strategy for the UK business, manage broker relationships and represent Royal Mail externally.
  • Support broader finance planning activities, including budgeting and forecasting.
About You
  • Professional accounting or finance qualification (essential).
  • Strong technical accounting skills and experience with financial controls.
  • Advanced knowledge of IFRS 9 (desirable).
  • Deep understanding of treasury, capital markets and financial instruments.
  • Experience in insurance markets and strategic risk transfer or willingness to pick this up.
  • Proactive, strategic mindset with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Hands‑on, enthusiastic approach with a drive to deliver results.
