Job description
Overview

Smart Works is a dynamic, high profile and fast-growing UK charity that helps unemployed women to get the coaching, clothing and confidence they need to secure employment and change the trajectory of their lives. After visiting Smart Works, 63% of clients secure a job within a month of their appointment. The women Smart Works support are at high risk of economic hardship, often struggling with confidence and self-belief in the face of repeated rejection and real barriers to employment. Smart Works has proudly supported 10,000 women across the UK throughout financial year 25/16. The Smart Works service is delivered in twelve centres across the UK - London (North, South & West), Greater Manchester, (Manchester City & Stockport), Glasgow, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Newcastle, Reading, Leeds and Bristol. The Smart Works Bristol team - consisting of one staff member, Head of Bristol, and six founding trustees - is now seeking a Treasurer to join the Smart Works Bristol Board of Trustees.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of the financial strategy and management for the local Smart Works centre.
  • Monitor the financial health of the charity and ensure the Board is provided with the financial information needed to make well considered decisions.
  • Ensure financial procedures are followed, complete a monthly review of income and expenditure and contribute to the annual fundraising strategy for the Smart Works Bristol centre.
