Position: Transport Planner - Development Planning

Location: Birmingham(Hybrid working available)

About the Role

We are working with a leading consultancy seeking a talented Transport Planner to join their Development Planning team. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality transport advice and technical outputs for a range of planning and development projects across the UK. Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and contribute to Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans.
  • Conduct site access appraisals, junction capacity assessments, and parking reviews.
  • Assist with the production of transport chapters for Environmental Statements.
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Support senior team members with project management and proposal preparation.
  • Analyse transport data using software such as TRICS, Junctions (PICADY/ARCADY), and TEMPro.
About You
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a transport/development planning role in the UK.
  • Strong understanding of the UK planning system and relevant transport guidance (e.g. NPPF, Manual for Streets).
  • Proficient in technical analysis tools and report writing.
  • Educated to degree level in Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and keen to grow professionally.
