Transport Planner - East Midlands, UK

Contract Length: 12 months

Hourly Rate: Competitive

Location: Derby, East Midlands, UK

Are you highly organised, detail‑oriented, and motivated to work in a fast‑paced environment? Join a leading industrial power systems organisation as a Transport Planner, where you'll play a key role in planning and managing global customer shipments. Full training in global export regulations will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage the shipping of customer orders to a global network of distribution and OEM partners
  • Liaise with internal departments (Customer Services, Warehouse, Transportation) and external customers
  • Complete export documentation, including proformas, labels, and shipping notes
  • Coordinate with customers and carriers to arrange and ensure timely bookings
  • Facilitate the freight invoice process, managing carrier invoices through to payment and resolving exceptions
  • Support time‑sensitive deadlines and business needs, which may require flexible working hours to ensure shipments leave on time
Essential Skills
  • Ability to use initiative and resolve problems independently
  • Strong organisational and administration skills
  • Positive team contributor
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • High attention to detail, especially under pressure
Preferred Skills
  • Experience using SAP
