The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of the Greater London area, a strong transport background with at least three years of experience in the HGV transport sector, and excellent communication skills. Qualifications

  • Excellent knowledge of planning routes across the UK, especially in urban areas.
  • Minimum three years experience in the HGV transport sector.
  • Self-assured and able to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and allocate work for collection modes efficiently.
  • Monitor progress of drivers and ensure daily work completion.
  • Use operational system Qargo TMS for managing work.

Transport Planner

Location: Borehamwood, Hertfordshire

JRL Environmental is a part of the JRL Group which encompasses 14+ divisions delivering bespoke solutions for the most complex construction projects. The company is a specialist within the haulage and waste sectors, with a fleet of over 100 HGV vehicles and depots nationwide.

Due to continued growth we are looking for a Transport Planner with haulage experience.

Role & Responsibilities:
  • High quality scheduling and allocation of work to be completed daily across all collection modes i.e Skip, RoRo and grab trucks.
  • Controlling drivers throughout the day to monitor their progress and take necessary measures to ensure that the work is completed each day.
  • Daily use of operational system; Qargo TMS to ensure all work is completed.
  • Maintain driver records electronically and in paper format.
Requirements:
  • Excellent knowledge of the Greater London area and the challenges of planning routes across the UK, particularly within urban areas.
  • Self-motivated with a friendly and approachable manner.
  • Ambitious and confident with a real 'can-do' attitude.
  • Self-assured communicator, both verbal and written.
  • Work well under pressure and to set timelines in a professional manner.
Qualifications/Experience:
  • Full driving licence.
  • Transport Management CPC a major advantage
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • At least three years experience of working in the HGV, transport sector.
