We are seeking experienced and proactive Transport Managers (CPC) to join our Fleet Management team. This is a key role acting as the interface between operational waste collection drivers and the fleet department, ensuring all transport-related operations are compliant with legal, safety, and company standards. Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of driver defect sheets.
  • Oversee vehicle availability and coordinate maintenance and repairs.
  • Monitor driver compliance with tachograph regulations and licensing.
  • Provide guidance and training on transport compliance and best practices.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on transport regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records and produce regular reports on fleet performance.
  • Identify and implement improvements in fleet operations.
  • Manage breakdowns and ensure roadworthiness of vehicles.
  • Liaise with internal and external maintenance providers.
  • Flexibility to respond to operational needs outside standard hours.
Qualifications
  • CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification for transport management.
  • A full UK driving licence is required for this role. Please declare any current endorsements on your licence as part of the application process. (Spent convictions do not need to be disclosed)
  • Significant experience in transport management, ideally in waste collection.
  • Experience working with operational drivers and fleet departments.
  • Proven track record in managing compliance (tachographs, defect sheets, licenses).
  • Proficiency in fleet management software.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of transport laws, health and safety regulations, and fleet budgeting.
