Overview

Training Programme Director for Professional Support and Wellbeing Service (PSWS) for KSS. This is a 3 PA Training Programme Director vacancy. The role supports and delivers professional support and wellbeing services to resident doctors in training across the Kent, Surrey and Sussex region, working with the PSWS Associate Dean and Regional PSWS Business Manager.

Role and responsibilities
  • Manage, support and develop the team of Case Managers in their roles supporting individual resident doctors in training.
  • Support complex cases.
  • Support the development of Case Managers in KSS PSWS.
  • Drive improvement and development of existing and new PSWS services.
  • Improve engagement and awareness with the KSS educator community.
  • Deputise for the PSWS Associate Dean when required.

Secondments

Applicants from within the NHS will be offered on a secondment basis only; agreement should be obtained from their employer prior to submitting the application.

Job description and responsibilities

The post is offered on a secondment basis. Successful candidates are responsible for securing written agreement from their Trust/Practice for release from clinical work for the specified number of PAs/sessions. In line with sessional TPD payments, NHSE provide an employer contribution at £10k per annum per 1 PA. Qualifications

  • Essential: Primary medical qualification (PMQ)
  • Essential: Membership/Fellowship of a College, Faculty, professional association and/or regulatory body
  • Essential: Hold or previously held a leadership role in medical education
  • Desirable: PGCert in Medical Education
  • Desirable: Leadership development programme relevant to working in the NHS and/or education

Experience

  • Essential: Considerable experience of working with learners or resident doctors in training in an educational context
  • Essential: Experience of clinical and educational leadership and innovation, including managing a multi-professional team
  • Essential: Demonstrable track record of delivery in service and education
  • Essential: Licence to Practise
  • Essential: Permanent NHS contract to support secondment into this role
  • Desirable: Understanding of relevant Colleges/Faculties, professional bodies, NHS organisations and regulatory bodies
  • Desirable: Workforce transformation agenda awareness
