Trainee Utility Surveyor

We have exciting opportunities across our SSE framework in the South (Basingstoke or Dartford) for Trainee Utility Surveyors.

As a Trainee Utility Surveyor, you’ll gain hands‑on experience in underground utility surveying through a blend of onsite fieldwork and office‑based data processing. You’ll be working with cutting‑edge surveying technology alongside experienced senior surveyors.

  • Collaborate with senior team members, support them on‑site and learn the daily workings of a Utility Surveyor
  • Operate advanced survey equipment to create accurate underground utility surveys.
  • Process field data efficiently and accurately.

  • Physically fit and eager to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Full UK driving licence – you will be provided a van, laptop and phone.
  • Willingness to travel and work away regularly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and a genuine interest in the field of utility surveying.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and a CSCS card are preferred but not essential.
