JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you passionate about working with children or young people with special educational needs? If so, get in touch today, we would love to hear from you! We are currently looking for a trainee teaching assistant to work at an SEN school. The role will involve working with a range of children with additional needs. You will be required to assist individual children in accessing the work set by the class teacher. These children will often struggle with emotional regulation and need the support of an adult who is calm and reassuring and can help the child feel calm and safe.

About the role

This is a unique opportunity for anyone who is looking to get into working in schools, particularly within SEND. You will undergo additional training courses within SEND, such as Behaviour Management and Special Needs Awareness to help give you the background knowledge and head start that is needed.

About the school

You will be working from 8:30-15:30, Monday-Friday during term time. This is a full-time position.

The successful candidate will have a positive mindset and be flexible and reliable in order to help ensure consistency for the pupils.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Unqualified SEND Teaching Assistant you will need:

  • To be available for full-time work
  • To have experience of working with children
  • To be able to drive and/or have access to a car (this school is not accesible by public transport)
  • To be able to provide two references to support your recent employment
  • To be able to provide full DBS clearance
  • To have a positive outlook
  • To have a genuine desire and passion to work with pupils with additional needs

Salary

£415 to £450 per week

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • To hold an Enhanced DBS or be willing to process one with us
  • To undergo the additional training required
