Trainee Recruitment Consultant

Salary: £27,500 - £29,500 + uncapped bonus
Location: Southampton with hybrid working and flexitime

The Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in recruitment, with a clearly defined pathway into a Consultant role.

You will initially join as a Talent Manager, focusing on recruitment delivery and supporting existing clients. As you gain confidence, you'll be given increasing autonomy to manage recruitment processes end-to-end. With ongoing internal and external training, the role will naturally progress into a Consultant position, where you will take full ownership of roles and client relationships.

Key responsibilities:
  • Supporting and managing recruitment delivery for existing clients
  • Learning to run recruitment processes from role briefing through to placement
  • Proactively sourcing candidates via job boards, LinkedIn Recruiter, social media and internal databases
  • Conducting screening calls and video interviews to assess suitability and motivation
  • Writing and posting accurate, engaging job adverts
  • Coordinating interviews and managing candidate and consultant diaries
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records, compliance documentation and onboarding information
  • Conducting market mapping and candidate research
  • Ensuring a consistently high-quality experience for candidates and clients
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in an office-based, delivery, coordination or sales-focused role
  • Strong communication skills and confidence speaking with candidates
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365; CRM or ATS experience is beneficial
  • Experience sourcing or researching candidates using professional platforms
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly around compliance and data accuracy
  • A motivated individual who is keen to learn, develop and progress into a Consultant role
