A health and wellbeing service provider is seeking Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners to assess and treat individuals with common mental health issues. The candidates will receive training in CBT-based interventions at Sheffield University, completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Interventions. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills, a degree, and mental health experience. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply soon due to high interest. As a Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners you will assess and treat people with common mental health problems. You will be trained to used CBT-based low intensity interventions, including Guided Self Help, Computerised CBT and Psycho-educational classes.
Successful candidates are required to attend Sheffield University in person and complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Interventions.
Attendance to Sheffield University and completion of a Practice Portfolio
Under supervision, deliver online, telephone and face to face screening involving assessment of need and risk, identifying appropriate evidence- based interventions within LMWS Talking Therapies and/or signposting to other services where appropriate.
To assess and support people with common mental health problems in the self- management of their recovery. To facilitate guided self- help through delivering groups/classes, via online platforms and one to one sessions.
To ensure support undertaken is meaningful, respectful, promotes self-determination and in line with the individual’s goals and to utilise agreed protocols, evidence based and best-known practice wherever possible when delivering facilitated self-help.
To work closely with other members of the workforce ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach.
To provide a culturally sensitive and accessible service.
To work to standards of proficiency identified by your professional and regulatory body and prioritising your own workload within agreed objectives.
To actively contribute to the multi-disciplinary team, wider organisation and consortium as well as other agencies, working towards developing and maintaining effective clinical and corporate collaborative working relationships.
To work with managers and colleagues to continually improve the quality of service delivery, adapting to the changing needs of the client group including identifying, managing and minimising risks and applying sound safeguarding and incident management principles, including multi-agency working.
To contribute to and undertake clinical audit, assist with research projects and share learning opportunities with students, team members and other agencies in order to develop self and others.
To ensure that client records and other information systems are completed accurately and within agreed timescales
To contribute to the achievement of annually set individual and team targets.
To participate in regular supervision.
To maintain appropriate professional boundaries at all times.
Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service (LMWS) delivers patient focusses and evidence based Talking Therapies for people with common mental health problems.
LMWS is a partnership between Leeds Community Health Care NHS Trust, Leeds GP Confederation, Leeds and York Partnership Foundation Trust, Northpoint, Inspire North, Touchstone and Women’s Counselling and Therapies Service.
The service operated a stepped care system, providing evidence based NICE guidance led interventions appropriate to the clients presenting mental health problem. These included Computerised Guided Self Help, Psychoeducation classes, CBT, EMDR, IPT, Counselling for Depression and DIT.

We have a unique opportunity for 5 passionate would-be Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners to join the Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service (LMWS) Partnership. This role will involve working across Leeds, as well as weekly attendance to Sheffield University. will join LMWS on a one year, fixed term contract and the successful candidates will be employed by Northpoint, Inspire North, Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust or Touchstone.

Candidates must not be enrolled on any other HEI training or educational programme at the time of training.
Candidates who have previously been enrolled and not completed a funded PWPNHS Talking Therapies for Anxiety and Depression training course must provide evidence and reference from the previous HEI about extenuating circumstances that lead to withdrawal from the course. Previously funded applicants who have withdrawn without extenuating circumstance, or who have been excluded from a PWP course, are not eligible to apply. Candidates who intent to apply to start another HEE funded programme (e.g. DclinPsy/CAPS/ CBT) before the PG Cert completes need not apply.
