Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Trainee Paraplanner to join a well-established wealth management firm in County Durham. You will be responsible for creating suitability letters and reports while liaising with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate should exhibit strong analytical skills and attention to detail while working towards a diploma or chartered qualification. This is a permanent role, offering a salary of £28,000 for 34 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Elvet Recruitment are working with a well-established wealth management firm that is looking to add a Trainee Paraplanner to their office in the County Durham area.

As the Trainee Paraplanner, you'll play a key role in producing consistently high-quality suitability letters and reports to support the Partner in informing and advising clients on financial strategies, plans, and products.

What You’ll Be Doing :

• Practice Management
• Ensure all relevant processes are completed in a timely and effective manner to support other members of the team.
• Work within and stay up to date with template changes and advice notes.
• Stay abreast of legislative changes and other regulatory issues taking necessary action as required.
• Business Processing
• Assimilate and segregate information gathered by the Partner
• Liaise with the Partner and Client as appropriate to complete any required information.
• Use checklists to ensure quality of documentation is suitable.
• Prepare suitability letters and reports in liaison with administrators.
• Take responsibility for updating Client files and system records, as required, in respect of suitability letters & reports.
• Liaise with Head Office administration centres as appropriate.
• Practice Development
• Be familiar with all major research systems
• Take responsibility for continuous professional development to meet regulatory requirements and personal development needs.
• Attend forums and workshops as appropriate.
• Team responsibilities
• Project a professional image in both appearance and attitude and provide quality support on time to agreed standards.
• Maintain a good working relationship with colleagues, clients and third parties

What We’re Looking For :

• Be working towards or have the desire to gain a diploma / chartered qualification.
• Experience in creating and maintaining systems, processes and procedures.
• Intermediate / advanced computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft packages.
• Able to balance conflicting demands and work to deadlines, ensuring quality is never compromised.
• Able to work autonomously and remotely whilst maintaining a team approach.
• Able to transpose information accurately.
• Able to replay client wants, needs, problems and consequences of no action.
• Strong analytical and numeracy skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Able to build strong relationships with others by delivering on promises and dealing with queries effectively and courteously.
