About the Role

Our client provides bespoke, cost‑effective fire and safety management solutions across a range of market sectors, eliminating the need for numerous contractors by offering a comprehensive range of services. We are looking for a Trainee Fire Alarm/Emergency Lighting Tester and Fire Door Inspector – no previous experience required as we provide full training. This mobile, customer‑service‑focused role requires you to have your own vehicle and a driving licence, and to be able to commute to the office in Merton.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine fire alarm and emergency lighting testing, health & safety checks, fire door inspections and fire, health and safety checks in line with the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022.
• Record findings on a tablet.
• Visit residential and commercial properties in and around London and surrounding areas.
• Provide excellent customer service while on site.
• Work independently during client visits.
• Comply with public transport, car or on‑foot travel once the location is reached; travel expenses paid.

Essential Skills

• Full driver’s licence and own vehicle required.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Office applications to complete test findings.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to apply initiative and see tasks through to completion.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• Previous experience within the industry desirable but not essential.

What We Offer

Salary: £24,000
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 9am to 5.30pm, Friday 9am to 5pm
