Overview
Part of being a Traffic Transformer apprentice at Yunex Traffic means you get to work on real‑life projects whilst also being supported on a guided learning journey, and often experiencing different areas within the business. This will be a Level 3 apprenticeship, over a 4-year period.

Responsibilities
- Ensure the proper and timely installation of various traffic signal assets, ancillary equipment and/or other highway systems, unsupervised or as part of a team.
- Use relevant hand tools, power tools, working at height aids and manual handling aids in accordance with the company's risk assessments, method statements and training.
- Work collaboratively with customers and other contractors on site.
- Complete works to the required quality standards and in accordance with site specifications and the company's product and installation handbooks.
- Attend, diagnose and resolve faults on traffic signal assets and other equipment covered within the scope of the Traffic Signal Maintenance (TSM) contract.
- Execute reactive and proactive maintenance tasks, ensuring high‑quality standards at all times.
- Perform installation, replacement and set‑up of traffic signal assets, ancillary equipment and highway systems.
- Carry out remedial works following incidents such as road‑traffic collisions, equipment failure or damage.
- Produce and submit detailed clearance notes via the Fault Management System (FMS) and other digital platforms.
- Adhere to contract‑specific requirements such as response & repair times or scheduled works.
- Book time in accordance with the “Variable Pay Policy – Field Services” and Live Time Booking process.
- Collect and process data for fault‑free analysis of equipment performance.
- Implement new business policies, processes and improvement techniques.
- Communicate with colleagues or customers (internal or external).
- Prepare work area, source required resources, tools and equipment, and plan tasks.
- Check tools during and after task completion, identify and report defects.
- Measure and test components using micrometers, verniers, multimeters, voltmeters, etc.
- Problem‑solve, analyse issues and implement appropriate fixes.
- Document work in accordance with job instructions, drawings and quality control documentation.
- Report work outcomes or issues.
- Restore and clean work area upon completion, return resources, and dispose of waste properly.
Qualifications & Skills
- GCSE in English (grade 4) and Maths (grade 4).
- Minimum qualification required: HERS occupation registration and NVQ level in progress or completed.
- Successful completion of mandatory National Highway Sector Scheme training and product/equipment training.
- Strong communication and IT skills.
- Attention to detail, problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Team working, initiative and physical fitness.
- Comfortable working at heights and outdoors.
- Will need to obtain a driving licence within the first year (dependent on age).
- Ability to operate within limits of responsibility and in line with health, safety and environmental policies.
Working Conditions
All uniform, personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools will be provided.

Hours & Schedule
- Shifts: generally 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday – Friday (subject to discussion at interview)
- 38 hours a week
