Job summary

AECOM is seeking enthusiastic and motivated apprentices to join our Traffic Engineering team in the UK. As a Traffic Engineering Apprentice, you’ll support a diverse range of projects focused on creating safer, more efficient and sustainable transport networks for pedestrians, cyclists, public transport and vehicles.

You’ll learn on the job with experienced engineers, gain practical experience across the project lifecycle, and work toward a recognised qualification, building a career in Traffic

Qualifications

• This role is ideal for school leavers with GCSEs, A-Levels or equivalent qualifications.
• Three A-Levels (or equivalent, such as a BTEC Level 3 in Civil Engineering), including Mathematics and a physical science.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design drawings, plans and supporting documentation using CAD and other design software.
• Support development and delivery of traffic engineering, highways and active travel schemes from concept through to detailed design.
• Help collect, analyse and interpret traffic data.
• Assist with highway, street and traffic engineering design, including signage and road markings.
• Support traffic management and traffic signal design activities.
• Participate in site visits, surveys and inspections to gather information and understand existing conditions.
• Assist with technical reports, calculations and presentation materials.
• Work with engineers, designers and other professionals across multidisciplinary project teams.
• Maintain project records and provide general project administration.
