Job summary

AECOM is recruiting a Traffic Engineering Apprentice in the United Kingdom. You’ll work with experienced engineers in multidisciplinary teams, gaining practical experience across the project lifecycle and working towards a recognised qualification.

On-the-job training, formal training, and mentoring will develop your technical skills while contributing to live transport projects. You will gain experience using industry-standard design and modelling software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, LinSig, TRANSYT,

Qualifications

Must have at least five GCSEs (incl. Maths and English).
Three A-Levels (or equivalent) with Maths and a physical science.
Permanent right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship).
Interest in traffic, transport or civil engineering and a desire to start a career in the industry.
Aptitude for technical software, engineering design and drawing (AutoCAD or 3D modelling).
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

Assist with design drawings, plans and documentation using CAD and related software.
Support development of traffic engineering, highways and active travel schemes from concept to detailed design.
Help collect, analyse and interpret traffic/transport data.
Assist with highway, street and traffic engineering design (signage/road markings).
Support traffic management and traffic signal design activities.
