Qualifications

Job description
  • We are currently seeking qualified candidates to fill a Traffic Engineer position in our Richmond, VA office.
  • Work as part of a team in all facets of traffic engineering including roadway, trail, and pedestrian type projects.
  • Tasks include design of signing and pavement markings, safety assessments, development of maintenance of traffic and preparation of construction related documents.
  • Analysis of intersection and road section in accordance with VDOT standards.
  • Ability to manage traffic impact study.
  • Other responsibilities may include report preparation, field reconnaissance and inspection, project rendering.
Required Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (with emphasis in Transportation)
  • 5 to 7 years-experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software.
  • Knowledge of TOPSAM requirements, Chapter 527, VDOT LAP and Smart Scale process and requirements.
  • Desire to work in a team environment.
  • PE license or ability to obtain one.
  • Planning, organization and scheduling skills.
  • A self starter.
