We are confidentially recruiting for a high-impact Trader / Category Specialist on behalf of a highly successful, established client in the Wholesale / Distribution sector.

Overview

This position is crucial for maximizing commercial returns across a key product category. You will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive category plan that leverages the business’s significant scale.

Key Areas of Focus
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Acting as the primary commercial representative for your category, developing productive and results-oriented partnerships with suppliers.
  • High-Stakes Negotiation: Successfully managing and negotiating pricing, promotional discounts, and trading terms to secure the most favorable commercial outcomes.
  • Commercial Performance: Diligently monitoring category performance (sales, margin, stock, and terms income) to exceed agreed-upon business targets.
  • Market Strategy: Constantly analysing the market, competitor activities, and emerging trends to identify and execute new sales and profit opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborating effectively with internal functions and external buying groups to align commercial strategies and resolve supply chain issues.
  • Availability and Stock Optimization: Ensuring maximum product availability while providing guidance to junior team members on optimal stock holding.
What We're Looking For
