Job summary

Howdens is seeking a Business Developer in Leigh-on-Sea to grow local trade business. You will build relationships with existing customers, generate new leads and convert conversations into sales, both by phone and in person.

A proactive, target-driven mindset and strong communication skills are essential. You will work with Kitchen Sales Designers and Territory Sales Representatives to keep the pipeline moving, arrange surveys, and promote Howdens products and events.

Qualifications

• Experience in telesales or account management is helpful.
• Ability to convert conversations into opportunities and sales.
• Comfort speaking to customers on the phone and face to face.

Responsibilities

• Call existing trade customers to build long term relationships and grow future business.
• Use customer data to spot inactivity and bring accounts back on track.
• Manage a targeted customer list and achieve daily call activity levels.
• Arrange surveys and appointments for Kitchen Sales Designers.
• Promote products, offers and events to keep customers engaged.
• Support administration, including invoicing and general depot tasks.
• Work with the depot team to hit targets and deliver great service.
