Job summary

Howdens Joinery is the UK's No1 Trade Kitchen Supplier based in Axminster. We are looking for a Business Developer to grow our local depot by building strong relationships with trade customers, generating leads and driving sales targets.

You’ll split time between phone and face-to-face conversations, arrange surveys with Kitchen Sales Designers, and promote products, offers and events to keep customers engaged. A proven telesales mindset and customer focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Confident communicator able to speak to customers on the phone and in person.
• Able to build relationships and convert conversations into opportunities.
• Commercially minded with a focus on driving sales and adding value.
• Self-motivated, positive and proactive.
• Organised and reliable, able to manage customer activity and pipelines.
• Comfortable working to call targets and activity levels.
• Experience in telesales, account management or a customer-focused role is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Call existing trade customers to build long-term relationships and grow future business.
• Use customer data to identify inactivity and re-engage accounts.
• Manage a targeted customer list and achieve daily call activity targets.
• Arrange surveys and appointments for Kitchen Sales Designers.
• Promote products, offers and events to keep customers engaged.
• Support administration, including invoicing and depot tasks.
• Collaborate with the wider team to hit depot targets and deliver great service.
