Job summary

Howdens Joinery is seeking a proactive Business Developer to grow trade relationships at our Leigh-on-Sea depot. You’ll engage customers face-to-face and on the phone, identify opportunities, and convert conversations into orders.

You’ll work with Kitchen Sales Designers and Territory Sales Representatives to expand spend and enhance service levels. You’ll be motivated by targets, with a strong emphasis on relationship building, value delivery, and driving repeat business.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills for phone and face-to-face interactions.
• A proven ability to build lasting trade customer relationships.
• Strong focus on driving sales and value for customers.

Responsibilities

• Call existing trade customers to build long-term relationships and grow future business.
• Use customer data to identify inactivity and re-engage accounts.
• Manage a targeted customer list and meet daily call targets.
• Keep up to date with customer projects to spot opportunities for value and repeat business.
• Arrange surveys and appointments for Kitchen Sales Designers.
• Promote products, offers and events to keep customers engaged.
• Support administration including invoicing and basic depot tasks.
• Collaborate with the depot team to meet targets and deliver great service.
