Job summary

Howdens Joinery is seeking a Business Developer to grow local depot business in the UK. You will engage with trade customers face-to-face and by phone, build strong relationships, generate leads and drive spend by understanding customer needs and ongoing projects.

You will support sales activity, arrange appointments for Kitchen Sales Designers, and work with Territory Sales Representatives to convert conversations into opportunities and sales.

Qualifications

• Confident communicator on phone and face to face.
• Enjoys building relationships and turning conversations into opportunities.
• Commercially minded with a focus on driving sales and adding value.
• Self-motivated, positive and proactive.
• Organised and reliable; able to manage customer activity and pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Calling existing trade customers to build long-term relationships and grow future business.
• Using customer data to spot inactivity and bring accounts back on track.
• Managing a targeted customer list and achieving daily call activity levels.
• Keeping up to date with customer projects to identify opportunities to add value and drive repeat business.
• Arranging surveys and appointments forKitchen Sales Designers.
• Promoting products, offers and events to keep customers engaged.
• Supporting administration, including invoicing and depot tasks.
• Working closely with the wider team to help the depot hit its targets and deliver great service.
