Job summary

Howdens Joinery in Axminster is seeking a proactive Business Developer to grow our local depot. You’ll talk to customers face to face and on the phone, build lasting relationships and convert conversations into opportunities that grow spend.

Working with our Kitchen Sales Designers and Territory Sales Representatives, you’ll generate leads, arrange appointments, and keep the sales pipeline moving while delivering outstanding service and hitting targets.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both phone and in-person.
• Ability to build relationships and convert conversations into opportunities.
• Commercial focus with drive to generate sales and add value.
• Organized and reliable with pipeline management.

Responsibilities

• Calling existing trade customers to build long-term relationships and grow future business.
• Using customer data to spot inactivity and bring accounts back on track.
• Managing a targeted customer list and achieving daily call activity levels.
• Keeping up to date with customer projects to identify opportunities to add value and drive repeat business.
• Arranging surveys and appointments for our Kitchen Sales Designers.
• Promoting products, offers and events to keep customers engaged.
• Supporting administration, including invoicing and general depot tasks.
• Working closely with the wider team to help the depot hit its targets and deliver great service.
