Job summary

Howdens Joinery is seeking a proactive Business Developer to grow our local depot in the UK. You will speak to trade customers, build lasting relationships and drive sales by understanding customer needs and opportunities.

In a busy depot team, you’ll generate leads, arrange appointments and keep the sales pipeline moving, working with Kitchen Sales Designers and Territory Sales Representatives. A confident communicator with a can-do attitude will fit right in.

Qualifications

• Confident communicator able to talk to customers face to face and on the phone.
• Strong relationship builder who can turn conversations into opportunities.
• Commercially minded with a focus on driving sales and adding value.
• Self-motivated, positive and proactive in a busy depot environment.
• Organised and reliable, able to manage customer activity and pipelines.
• Comfortable working to call targets and activity levels.
• Experience in telesales, account management or customer-focused roles is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Call existing trade customers to build long-term relationships and grow future business.
• Use customer data to spot inactivity and bring accounts back on track.
• Manage a targeted customer list and achieve daily call activity levels.
• Keep up to date with customer projects to identify opportunities to add value and drive repeat business.
• Arrange surveys and appointments for Kitchen Sales Designers.
• Promote products, offers and events to keep customers engaged.
• Support administration, including invoicing and general depot tasks.
• Work closely with the wider team to hit depot targets and deliver great service.
