Job summary

Howdens Joinery is recruiting a Business Developer to join our depot team in the UK. You’ll contact trade customers in person and by phone to build relationships, identify opportunities and drive sales, while collaborating with Kitchen Sales Designers and Territory Sales Representatives to convert conversations into opportunities and sales.

You’ll be part of a busy depot team delivering targets, with a strong focus on relationship management, lead generation and customer win-back activities.

Qualifications

• Confident communicator with strong verbal and written skills.
• Enjoys building relationships and turning conversations into opportunities.
• Commercially minded with a focus on driving sales and adding value.
• Self-motivated, positive and proactive.
• Organised and reliable, able to manage customer activity and keep track of pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Calling existing trade customers to build long-term relationships and grow future business.
• Using customer data to spot inactivity and bring accounts back on track.
• Managing a targeted customer list and achieving daily call activity levels.
• Arranging surveys and appointments for Kitchen Sales Designers.
• Promoting products, offers and events to keep customers engaged.
• Supporting administration, including invoicing and general depot tasks.
