Job summary

Howdens Joinery Limited is seeking a proactive Business Developer to grow our local depot. You’ll balance face-to-face and phone conversations, build lasting relationships and spot opportunities to increase trade spend.

Working in a busy depot team, you’ll generate leads, arrange appointments and keep the pipeline moving, collaborating with Kitchen Sales Designers and Territory Sales Representatives to turn conversations into sales.

Qualifications

• Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build and nurture client relationships.
• Commercially minded with a focus on driving sales and adding value.
• Self-motivated, proactive and positive under pressure.
• Organised and reliable with good pipeline management.
• Comfortable working to call targets and activity levels.

Responsibilities

• Calling existing trade customers to build long-term relationships and grow future business.
• Using customer data to spot inactivity and bring accounts back on track.
• Managing a targeted customer list and achieving daily call activity levels.
• Keeping up to date with customer projects to identify opportunities to add value and drive repeat business.
• Arranging surveys and appointments for Kitchen Sales Designers.
• Promoting products, offers and events to keep customers engaged.
• Supporting administration, including invoicing and general depot tasks.
• Working closely with the wider team to help the depot hit its targets and deliver great service.
