Job summary

Howdens Joinery is seeking a Business Developer to grow local depot sales by engaging with trade customers face-to-face and over the phone. You will generate leads, arrange appointments, and nurture relationships to convert conversations into opportunities and repeat business.

You will collaborate with Kitchen Sales Designers and Territory Sales Representatives, target activity, and stay close to accounts while contributing to team bonuses in a fast-paced depot environment.

Qualifications

• Confident communicator who can talk to customers face to face and on the phone.
• Enjoys building relationships and turning conversations into opportunities.
• Commercially minded with a focus on driving sales and adding value.
• Self-motivated, positive and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Call existing trade customers to build long-term relationships and grow future business.
• Use customer data to spot inactivity and bring accounts back on track.
• Manage a targeted customer list and achieve daily call activity levels.
• Keep up to date with customer projects to identify opportunities to add value and drive repeat business.
• Arrange surveys and appointments for Kitchen Sales Designers.
• Promote products, offers and events to keep customers engaged.
• Support administration, including invoicing and general depot tasks.
• Work closely with the wider team to help the depot hit its targets and deliver great service.
