Job summary

Grant & Stone Electrical in Swindon is seeking a Trade Counter Assistant / Warehouse Operative to join our busy branch. This varied role combines customer-facing trade counter duties with warehouse tasks, helping maintain stock and support a friendly team.

You will handle customer enquiries, process orders, pick and pack goods, and assist with goods in and goods out while following health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Product knowledge in electrical wholesale or related industry preferred.
• Self-motivated with a can-do attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable in a warehouse and able to perform manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers and process orders at the trade counter.
• Handle customer enquiries and provide product advice.
• Pick, pack, load and unload goods.
• Maintain accurate stock levels using warehouse systems.
• Assist with goods in and goods out processes.
• Support sales growth through excellent customer service.

The Role

We are looking for a Trade Counter / Warehouse Operative to join our Swindon branch. This varied role combines customer-facing trade counter responsibilities with warehouse duties, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working with customers, managing stock and being part of a busy team.

Key Responsibilities

• Serving customers and processing orders at the trade counter
• Handling customer enquiries and providing product advice
• Picking, packing, loading and unloading goods
• Maintaining accurate stock levels using warehouse systems
• Assisting with goods in and goods out processes
• Supporting sales growth through excellent customer service
• Following health and safety procedures at all times

Requirements

• Full UK Driving Licence
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Product knowledge within electrical wholesale or similar industry preferred
• Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment and carrying out manual handling duties

Working Hours

Week 1

• Monday to Friday: 7:00am - 5:15pm

Week 2

• Monday to Friday: 7:00am - 5:15pm
• Saturday: 8:00am - 12:00pm
