Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting an Engineering Manager for the HS2 Track infrastructure project in the London office. You will lead the track design, coordinate with design partners and alliance members, and drive best practice across safety, buildability, and value delivery.

You will oversee design through detailed design, construction support, and As-Built stages, ensuring compliance and on-time delivery within budget.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering or equivalent required.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) preferred.
• Experience in design and/or engineering management of rail projects, preferably track.
• Knowledge of design procedures and standards.
• Ability to work in a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish best practice in health, safety, sustainability, cost, time, buildability and quality.
• Manage design process to deliver safe, buildable, and schedule-compliant solutions within budget.
• Coordinate and monitor designers and subcontractors to ensure aligned outputs.
• Promote modern methods of construction and BIM BEP requirements.
• Interface with clients, NR and stakeholders to manage approvals and changes.
• Prepare minutes, notes, and reports and maintain records.
