Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a skilled TIG Welder to join the manufacturing team in Solihull. The ideal candidate will have proven experience with aluminium, stainless steel, and mild steel. Responsibilities include performing high-quality TIG welding, reading engineering drawings, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This is a full-time, permanent position offering £15.00 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Proven TIG welding experience with aluminium, stainless steel, and mild steel.
  • Fabrication/fitting experience and knowledge of lean manufacturing practices are desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out TIG welding to a high standard, particularly on aluminium and stainless steel.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Maintain and effectively use welding jigs and equipment.
  • Work independently or with a team to achieve production targets.
  • Contribute to 5S initiatives and continuous improvement.

Join Our Team as a Skilled TIG Welder! Do you take pride in your craftsmanship and have a passion for precision welding? We’re looking for an experienced TIG Welder to join our dynamic manufacturing team in Solihull. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-quality welded assemblies across a variety of materials, within a collaborative and safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out TIG welding to a high standard, particularly on aluminium and stainless steel.
  • Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with welding procedures, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Maintain and use welding jigs, fixtures, and equipment effectively.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to achieve production targets.
  • Contribute to 5S initiatives and continuous improvement across the shop floor.
What We’re Looking For
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong TIG welding ability (aluminium and stainless steel essential)

Experience
  • Essential: Proven TIG welding experience with aluminium, stainless steel, and mild steel
  • Desirable: Fabrication/fitting experience, knowledge of lean manufacturing practices
Qualifications
  • Essential: GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Desirable: BS 4872 welding certification
  • Abrasive wheels training (for tungsten grinding)
  • Lean/5S training
  • Welding/fabrication-related qualifications
